Amazon, in partnership with Apple, has quietly turned on a new feature in Prime Video’s apps for Apple devices that lets users buy or rent TV shows and movies, using the in-app payment feature.
Previously, the Prime Video app for Apple’s family of devices didn’t let you make purchases. The Prime Video app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV was updated April 1 to enable in-app purchasing directly to your Amazon account, as first spotted by the Verge.
What’s significant about the change: Amazon is not
Why go outside against the advice of doctors, scientists, and your overly concerned mom, when you can stay inside and be safe? Be a good human and watch TV in your house. If you need something to watch on Amazon Prime Video, these are the best TV show and movie options coming to the service in April 2020. Highlights include arthouse horror movie The Lighthouse and sweet sci-fi series Tales From the Loop.

Amazon Prime Video announced that it will host a handful of titles that were set to screen at this year’s SXSW film festival. The SXSW 2020 Film Festival Collection will be open to all users with an Amazon login in the United States, not just those with a Prime subscription, for ten days. Amazon Prime Video has revealed its list of incoming movies and shows for the month of April 2020, and there are some great options, both in the streaming service's originals and its licensed content. Amazon original highlights include Tales from the Loop, a retrofuturist sci-fi series from executive producer Matt Reeves (April 3), and Bosch, the dependable cop show that's back for Season 6 (April 17).
