Manchester United loanee Alvaro Fernandez insists he is fully committed to Granada despite the option of a January recall by his parent club.
United do have the option to cut short Fernandez's loan spell in Spain, should they wish to do so. Such clauses are in the majority of loan deals at the club, allowing manager Erik ten Hag to reassess his options midway through the season and make adjustments if necessary.
The question was asked regarding a recall amid United's injury crisis at left-back earlier in the season. Luke Shaw has recently returned from a long-term injury while Tyrell Malacia has not featured and on-loan Sergio Reguilon has also been absent in that time with a hamstring injury.

Shaw's recent return means a January recall for Fernandez is highly unlikely, given Ten Hag now has two senior left-backs fit. But Fernandez is not looking that far ahead anyway, focusing only on Saturday's trip to Real Madrid.
“In football, I think you can’t make long term plans," Fernandez told COPE. "I know that this year I’m here, well, United have the option of taking me back at Christmas but now it’s my commitment to help this team."
Fernandez is picking up regular minutes back in Spain, featuring nine times for Granada in La Liga. Naturally a defender, the 20-year-old has been deployed in a more advanced role at times.
