A number of support payments from the government will be issued in the coming months.
Payments will be handed out to people who may benefit from some extra cash to alleviate the pressure from the cost of living crisis. Some payments will be especially useful as temperatures begin to drop throughout autumn and winter and people switch on their heating for longer periods of time.
While the start of October will see a new energy price cap, without last year's discount on bills from the government, millions will receive the autumn cost of living payment from the end of the month, the DWP has now announced.

We've broken down all the important payment dates coming up from now until the end of the year.
The DWP will begin paying out the £300 cost of living support payment for those receiving means-tested benefits at the end of October. The payment will be issued from October 31 until November 19.
Initially, this will only be paid out to claimants who receive their benefit payments primarily from the DWP. However, those who receive benefit payments from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), such as Tax Credits, will begin receiving their cash from November 10 until November 19.

The Winter Fuel Payment can provide a bonus of between £250 and £600 in order to help with heating bills. However, not everyone can get this extra payment.
