Air ambulance called to Middleton home as emergency services rush to incident

An air ambulance was scrambled to the centre of Middleton after emergency services rushed to a nearby home.
Paramedics were sent to Whitaker Road, behind a play park on Limetrees Road, shortly before 2pm this afternoon, February 28.
At least three emergency vehicles were spotted at the scene, with an air ambulance landing at the park a short while later.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance service confirmed that a number of emergency vehicles had attended the scene after an emergency call was placed at around 1.30pm.
They said: "We were called to a private address.
"An ambulance, response vehicle, advanced paramedic and air ambulance all attended.

"A patient has been taken to hospital by road.
"The call came in at 13.34."
Passers-by reported seeing "numerous" emergency service vehicles heading towards the street around five minutes before the air ambulance arrived.
The helicopter was filmed landing at the nearby park just after 2pm.
It is not yet known what sparked the response, or the current condition of the patient taken to hospital.
