Ainsley Harriott has excitedly revealed that he's become a grandad as he announced the birth of his 'beautiful' granddaughter.
The popular TV chef, 66, couldn't contain his excitement as he proudly shared the news of the "beautiful baby girl" with his 119,000 followers on Instagram on Tuesday.
The ex-Ready, Steady, Cook star shared a sweet snap of a tiny newborn hand adorably wrapped around one of his fingers as he shared the heartfelt announcement with his fans. Ainsley was married to costume designer Clare Fellows, but the couple divorced in 2012 and they share two adult children together, Jimmy and Maddie.
Ainsley shared his new 'grandad' status in the adorable Instagram post, writing: "I'm very happy to tell you that last week I became a grandad to a beautiful baby girl," followed by the hashtag 'family time'. Fans flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages about the new arrival.
One wrote: "Imagine having Ains as your grandad. Epic." Another shared: "Congratulations, you'll be an awesome grandad." While a third replied: "Congratulations Grandpa Ainsley!" It led Ainsley to follow up with another message on the post.
He added: "Thank you all for your lovely comments. Big love and hugs." The exciting family news comes just a week after it was announced that the TV icon is set to star in a brand new ITV cookery show.
The much loved chef and TV presenter will be fronting a five-part programme titled Ainsely’s Taste of Malta, which will air early in 2024.
