A Florida inmate who was freed from jail due to concerns over the novel coronavirus spreading in correctional facilities now stands accused of murdering someone one day after his early release.

Roomies, it looks like YNW Melly will not get an early release from jail, even though he tested positive for COVID-19. As we previously reported, the rapper was seeking an early release, in order to get better treatment, due to inadequate care.

After testing positive for COVID-19, YNW Melly requested his release from Broward County Jail in Florida. A judge has now denied his request for release, TMZ reports.

YNW Melly made headlines on Thursday (April 2) when his Instagram account confirmed that he had contracted coronavirus while behind bars inside Florida's Broward County Jail.

Jamell Maurice Demons, popularly known as YNW Melly, is awaiting trial in the Broward County Jail. The American rapper has been convicted for double murder charges. He is accused of murdering two of his friends, Anthony Williams and Chistopher Thomas Jr. in 2018 but the 20 years old rapper pleads not guilty. Meanwhile, YNM Melly has tested positive for Coronavirus and is demanding restricted release from the Florida jail for better treatment.

The rapper is awaiting trial on two counts of first-degree murder

YNW Melly has tested positive for COVID-19 while in a Florida jail, the Florida rapper’s official Instagram account claims. He’s currently awaiting trial in a Broward County jail after being charged with two counts of first-degree murder. The rapper’s team announced plans to file a motion for restricted release. Pitchfork has reached out to YNW Melly’s lawyers.
