Rapper YNW Melly, who was charged with two counts of first-degree murder last year, has contracted coronavirus while in Florida’s Broward County Jail.

Rapper YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Maurice Demons, is reportedly dying in prison from Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) and his lawyer wants him released.
YNW Melly made headlines on Thursday (April 2) when his Instagram account confirmed that he had contracted coronavirus while behind bars inside Florida's Broward County Jail.
Rapper Playboi Carti was arrested on Thursday on drug and gun-related charges.
YNW Melly has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a post on his Instagram. The rapper is currently being held at a prison in Broward County, Florida, where he awaits trial for two counts of first-degree murder. The post says that he'll be seeking restricted release from prison in light of the positive test.
Jamell Maurice Demons, popularly known as YNW Melly, is awaiting trial in the Broward County Jail. The American rapper has been convicted for double murder charges. He is accused of murdering two of his friends, Anthony Williams and Chistopher Thomas Jr. in 2018 but the 20 years old rapper pleads not guilty. Meanwhile, YNM Melly has tested positive for Coronavirus and is demanding restricted release from the Florida jail for better treatment.
