As the U.S. music industry reeled in the wake of the postponement of basically every major current tour for at least the next few weeks amid coronavirus concerns, the U.K.’s largest festival, Glastonbury, unveiled more than 90 additional acts for its scheduled 50 th anniversary event — including Kendrick Lamar, Dua Lipa, Pet Shop Boys and more — joining the already announced headliners Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney.

Kendrick Lamar has been announced as the Friday night headliner for this year’s Glastonbury Festival, which is slated to take place June 24-28. Other acts that have been revealed for the festival include FKA twigs, Burna Boy, Robyn, Thom Yorke, Ed O'Brien (as EOB), Camila Cabello, and Caribou, among others. Kendrick Lamar has deleted his entire Instagram feed and updated it to reflect that he's the founder of a new endeavor called pgLang. A press release for the new endeavor "not a 'record label,' a 'movie studio,' or a 'publishing house,'" but a "multi-lingual, at service company" spanning different mediums. The new initiative was founded by Lamar and Dave Free. In a statement, Free wrote that they are "focused on cultivating raw expression from grassroots partnerships."

Kendrick Lamar returned to social media on Thursday (March 5) with a mysterious announcement: He's launching pgLang, a multilingual, artist-friendly service company alongside his manager Dave Free that's a record label, movie studio and publishing house combined.

Kendrick Lamar and frequent collaborator Dave Free have launched pgLang, which is described in a press release as “a new multi-lingual, at service company.” The press release continues, “pgLang is at service to creators and projects that selflessly speak with, and for, the shared experiences that connect us all.”

Now-defunct indie band Yeasayer have sued Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd over “Pray For Me,” a song the pair wrote for the 2018 Black Panther soundtrack. A report from Pitchfork confirms that the band, who broke up in 2019, are claiming that “Pray For Me” infringes on their 2007 track “Sunrise;” as such, they are seeking to claim profits from the song, as well as damages.

Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd’s Black Panther soundtrack collaboration, “Pray For Me,” is the subject of a copyright lawsuit. On Monday, recently disbanded Brooklyn band Yeasayer filed a complaint in the US District Court in New York alleging the track infringes on the group’s 2007 song, “Sunrise,” as first reported by TMZ and then confirmed by Pitchfork.
