Glastonbury, Britain's biggest music festival, will not take place as planned this summer due to the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak. The decision was announced on Wednesday ahead of the June event, which was to be headlined by Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, and Paul McCartney.

Glastonbury has canceled its 2020 edition. It had been due to host 200,000 festival-goers this June, at the predicted peak of the UK’s coronavirus outbreak. Just last week, Kendrick Lamar was named as the third headliner, joining Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift; the festival has not announced whether it intends to book the same headliners for 2021.

The rapper joins Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, Diana Ross, Burna Boy, FKA twigs, Thom Yorke and more on the festival's 50th-anniversary lineup.

Compton, Calif., native Sounwave, born Mark Spears, is an in-house producer at the record label Top Dawg Entertainment and has had a hand in every release from rapper Kendrick Lamar since his self-titled debut EP in 2009, including Black Panther: The Album (2018), DAMN. (2017) and To Pimp a Butterfly (2015).

Kendrick Lamar has been announced as the Friday night headliner for this year’s Glastonbury Festival, which is slated to take place June 24-28. Kendrick Lamar has deleted his entire Instagram feed and updated it to reflect that he's the founder of a new endeavor called pgLang. A press release for the new endeavor "not a 'record label,' a 'movie studio,' or a 'publishing house,'" but a "multi-lingual, at service company" spanning different mediums. The new initiative was founded by Lamar and Dave Free. In a statement, Free wrote that they are "focused on cultivating raw expression from grassroots partnerships."

Kendrick Lamar returned to social media on Thursday (March 5) with a mysterious announcement: He's launching pgLang, a multilingual, artist-friendly service company alongside his manager Dave Free that's a record label, movie studio and publishing house combined.

Kendrick Lamar and frequent collaborator Dave Free have launched pgLang, which is described in a press release as “a new multi-lingual, at service company.” The press release continues, “pgLang is at service to creators and projects that selflessly speak with, and for, the shared experiences that connect us all.”
