A woman charged with stabbing her partner to death told the court she can 'sometimes be a cow'.
Joanne Moran, 42, of Bridge Road, Litherland, is on trial at Liverpool Crown Court after being accused of murdering Jonathan Gibbons. The victim died after being stabbed in the chest.
The court heard how on October 20, 2022 at around 4.45am, emergency services were called by Joanne who reported that a man had been stabbed and was requesting assistance on Bridge Road. Moran has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder and one count of manslaughter, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Opening the trial, Andrew O’Byrne KC, prosecuting, said: “The man who had been stabbed was called Jonathan Gibbons, the person who placed that call was the defendant, Joanne Moran, and the person who stabbed Mr Gibbons, was the defendant, Joanne Moran. That in headline form encapsulates this case.”
Moran and Mr Gibbons first started their relationship in 2016 and had lived together on Bridge Road for around four years. The court head that Moran and Mr Gibbons began drinking and playing cards at around 3pm and continued until around 4am the next morning until an argument broke out.
Another male who was in the property at the time of the stabbing allegedly had an argument with the victim. However, he did not witness the incident.
It was alleged that Moran stabbed Mr Gibbons using a small black handled knife from the kitchen before calling emergency services. On Wednesday (April 5), transcripts of Moran's police interviews following the incident were read to the court - she was also called to give evidence.
