Alex Telles has delivered a defiant rally cry to his Sevilla colleagues ahead of his team’s Europa League quarter-final second leg clash with parent club Manchester United.
The left-back is on loan at the struggling Spanish side until the end of the season and has been given limited game time since his return from a knee injury just before the new year. Uefa rules permit him to face his employers in the Europa League although boss Jose Luis Mendilibar left him on the bench at Old Trafford.
Telles is yet to start under his new manager four games into his tenure. However, Telles has detailed he would have no qualms about dumping United out of the competition - and thus ending their cup treble hopes - if called upon.

Speaking to El Desmarque, he said: “I know many [United] players, but I’m a Sevilla player and I will give my blood for this club. It’s going to be a very tough game. They have good players, but we play in front of our fans. I think we have one more force.”
Telles has played 29 times for Sevilla this season, grabbing three assists. The 30-year-old is set to be put up for sale by Erik ten Hag upon his return to United this summer with the likes of Harry Maguire and Brandon Williams also fated for the same.
There is no obligation-to-buy clause in Sevilla’s loan deal and Telles has remained coy about his future. “I don’t think about the future because that depends on what I do now. Now I have to play and train,” he said last month.
“I’ve always said that I’m happy at Sevilla, I’m treated very well and now I have to play and do my best, which is the most important thing.”
Telles signed for United from Porto for an initial €15m (£13.2m) in October 2022 and chalked up
