A mystery Scots woman who reunited a student with ID he lost in Magaluf has come forward as mum from Glasgow.
Sheffield lad Dan Knight, 21, had flown to Majorca for a holiday with pals in June and was left gutted when he lost his provisional licence 1,000 miles away from home. But the History and Politics student was later left speechless when a handwritten letter from 'Kirsty in Scotland' - and his ID - showed up at his door.
In his efforts to thank good samaritan Kirsty, Dan got in touch with the Record to trace the person he dubbed "the soundest girl in the world".
Just days after reading Dan's appeal in the paper, Kirsty MacIntyre has now come forward to tell Dan she is glad his ID was returned to its rightful owner.
The 47-year-old, from Glasgow said: "It made my week reading Dan's story - I was gobsmacked! I can't believe he has gone to all this effort in trying to find me to say thank you. I'm just glad I was able to get it back to him."
Kirsty found Dan's ID outside her hotel while she was on holiday with her partner.
She continued: "I found it outside the HM Martinique Hotel where we were staying. I could see it was his provisional license and I thought it would be a nightmare for him if he had his test booked.
"We looked all over social media for him before posting it so I'm thrilled to see he has got it back."
"My own daughter is 17 and I'd like to think if she ever loses her license someone would return it back to her.
"It's a total inconvenience losing it when it was so easy for us just to pop it into an envelope and put a stamp on it."
Speaking last week, Dan said: "I returned home last week and my ID arrived a few days later. I couldn't stop grinning when I read Kirsty's note. It was sent with a first class stamp
