A woman who was found dead at a Premier Inn in Sale has been named as 42-year-old Julie Howarth. An inquest opened into her death at South Manchester Coroners Court today (April 20).
Julie, of Bakecroft Grove, Northern Moor, was found dead in a room at the Carrington Lane hotel on March 29 this year. A number of emergency service crews were called to the hotel that evening.
Staff told police that the health care assistant had booked a room at the hotel, police coroners officer David Wood told the hearing. A post-mortem has been carried out by consultant pathologist Dr Andrew Yates, but a further toxicological report is needed.

Area coroner Christopher Morris told the court that Julie was found with a ligature around her neck and therefore had reason to suspect this was a unnatural death, triggering a full inquest hearing. Mr Morris said police identified her body at the scene using an ID card found in a purse in the room.
