A woman feared for her life as her ex broke into her house through a skylight and assaulted her on the street.
Darren Kelly first met the woman 16-years-ago, but it was only in December last year that they rekindled their relationship.
The woman, from Salford, ended the relationship after five months when he became violent towards her, Manchester Crown Court heard.
