With Scotland experiencing a deep freeze of frost and snow, people across the country have likely woken up on the cold mornings to find their cars covered in ice.
Normally this would require people to get out the de-icer and spend valuable time scraping off ice that could be used to get to work. Another option is to trudge back into the house multiple times to grab some hot water to melt the ice.
If this doesn't sound like your cup of tea, one woman's hack could be just the solution you need as the Arctic blast rages on. The tip comes courtesy of one woman named Chloe who discovered it a few years ago and now "cannot live without" it.
Rather than slug back and forth with jugs of boiling hot water that could crack your screen, the mum instead fills up a standard shopping carrier bag with some luke warm water from the sink. In a viral TikTok video with over 10 million views, she explained how this can safely de-ice a car in "seconds".
"So now it's getting to the frozen mornings and everyone sometimes are rushing. And now I rush a lot times in the morning on the school run and for work," she began.
"So this is super quick and easy. All you need to do is put lukewarm water from the tap straight into a plastic bag, hold it. You don't need to use any hot water that can damage your screen."
She then simply wipes the filled bag across her windscreen and holds it down and the ice quickly melts away. Chloe added: "It's literally super quick and easy. Hover it over your windscreen, it melts it all, it literally all just goes away, so there's no messing.
"It literally takes five seconds, if that, to do your full car and off you go."
Chloe stressed the importance of using lukewarm water over boiling water, which has the potential to crack
