A woman battered a pensioner before getting him arrested after lying to officers that he had attacked her after refusing to pay for a sex act. Renee Weaver, 41, was jailed after pleading guilty to theft, assault and possession of heroin.
The horrific incident occurred last year, when the victim was in his car on route to pick his grandchildren up. Liverpool Crown court heard that on January 29 2021, the unnamed pensioner was pulling out of his driveway when the defendant jumped into the passenger seat.
Weaver told the frightened grandfather that she needed money before he tried to call the police. The 41-year-old seeing his attempt to get help then punched the pensioner three times in the face, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The court then heard the defendant threatened to tell authorities that the pensioner had made her perform sexual acts upon him. She then grabbed his phone and stole £5 from his jacket pocket before threatening to attack him with a glass bottle.
Sarah Griffin, prosecuting, told the court: "[The victim] was in his car on his way to collect his grandchildren and as he was reversing off his driveway, the defendant got into the passenger seat. He stated that he did not know the defendant’s name, but he recognised her as one of the women he had seen standing on Sheil Road.
"He asked her ‘What do you want?’ to which she replied ‘You know what I want, I’ve got no money’. She started going through his glove box.
"As he has mobility issues he would have struggled to get out of the car so he started to drive to the police station. The defendant pulled the handbrake on to prevent him from driving any further.
