Tributes have been paid to a second pensioner who tragically died in a horror car crash in Rutherglen.
John Laird, 80, from Glasgow, passed away after his Mercedes C220 was involved in a crash with a Ford Mondeo on Friday, November 18.
The incident happened at around 11.50pm on Mill Street at the junction with Kings Park Avenue.
Michael McManamon, 73, who was a passenger in John's car also died.
Mr Laird’s heartbroken family said he will be sorely missed.
They added: “We are heartbroken and shocked at the loss of our much loved John, a husband, father and grandad.
"He will be sorely missed.
"We are comforted by the kind messages from friends and family who knew him well and appreciated all he did for them.”
Sergeant Gemma Blackadder, Lanarkshire Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with both deceased’s family and friends.
“Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances and I would urge anyone who may be able to help and who hasn’t yet spoken to police to get in touch.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 4274 of 18 November, 2022.”
The 34-year-old male driver of the Ford Mondeo was not injured and has been arrested in connection with the incident.
