A student police officer in Manchester has been charged with sexual assault.

A 35-year-old woman has been charged over an alleged assault against a man in Tameside.
Lorraine Brogan has been charged with section 18 assault, also known as grievous bodily harm (GBH).
It follows an incident on Birch Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, yesterday morning (January 27).

Emergency services were called out to the scene at around 5am following reports of a stabbing.
A man in his 40s was treated for facial injuries, Greater Manchester Police said.
Brogan, of Birch Street, Ashton, was remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today.
Police spent several hours on Birch Street, in the Guide Bridge area, throughout Thursday morning.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the road taped off close to the Shell petrol station on Stockport Road, before a smaller cordon was in place at the junction with Pelham Street.
Residents told the Manchester Evening News they were woken up by the sound of sirens as several police vehicles descended on the area.
North West Ambulance Service was also in attendance.
GMP officers remained in the area until around 1pm.
In a statement issued this afternoon, a GMP spokesperson said: "Lorraine Brogan, of Birch Street, Ashton Under Lyne, has been charged with Section 18 Assault.
"She was remanded in custody to appear today at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court."
