Charles Rae, renowned former royal correspondent, recently joined The Sun's Royal Exclusive show to discuss the frosty relations between the two royal brothers and their wives.
Speaking of their estrangement and who he believes should take the first steps out of the Sussexes and Waleses' to make amends, Charles stated: "Well, I think it is down to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to make the first move."
He added: "Whether or not it would be accepted by William and Catherine, I doubt very much it would be. There's too much water which has gone under that bridge.
"After everything Harry and Meghan have done with the Oprah Winfrey interview, that Netflix show... Spare. The flamboyant curtsey by Meghan on the show as well.
"There's too much gone under the bridge now. If they're going to make the move, I am not so sure William and Catherine would respond favourably."
Over the past few years, Prince William has been faced with numerous heartbreaks, including the loss of his grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip as well as his father King Charles and wife Kate both being diagnosed with undisclosed forms of cancer.
