Why isn't Busted star James Bourne in BBC documentary Matt Willis: Fighting Addiction?

Matt Willis opens up about his struggles with addiction in his new BBC documentary, but while his loved ones, including wife Emma Willis, feature there is one notable exception. The Busted musician, 39, speaks candidly about his ongoing battles with substance abuse, which saw him once consume 6 grams of coke a day, in Matt Willis: Fighting Addiction. While Matt has now been sober for five years, the feature-length episode sees Emma, 47, discuss the impact of his past relapses on their relationship and family life.
During a visit to his hometown, Matt also meets up with his brother where they talk about their teenage drinking and Busted bandmate Charlie Simpson, 37, shares his experience with the music icon’s addiction. However, the boyband’s third member James Bourne, 39, is absent from the documentary – although Matt gave a very simple explanation as to why he is not featured. At a screening and Q&A with members of the press, Matt told Metro. co. uk James wasn’t included in the documentary because he lives in LA so wasn’t around for the filming, all of which took place in the UK.
Charlie, meanwhile, is seen in the recording studio with Matt in the documentary – potentially in preparation for their upcoming reunion tour. In a voice-over, Matt explains that Charlie was with him ‘during some of his darkest moment’ but that he was ‘very good at keeping them hidden. ’Charlie then recalled they ‘had some good times together’ singling out a particular night in Germany which had left in vomiting in Matt’s suitcase – later taken to an airport.
