Matt Willis has announced a break from social media following the premiere of his harrowing documentary Fighting Addiction.The 40 year old musician, who is one third of pop-rockers Busted alongside Charlie Simpson and James Bourne, posted a statement confirming his decision on Instagram Stories on Thursday. In the documentary, which aired on BBC One earlier this month, Matt opened up on his struggles with hard drugs while at the height of his Busted fame.
Matt was later sober for eight years after the birth of his and wife Emma Willis' two daughters and son, but has been open about his relapse struggles. "After one of [Busted's reunion] shows, someone offered me a line of coke, and I was like, 'Oh, cocaine wasn’t a problem for me, alcohol was my downfall,'" he said. "Within a month I was doing six grams on my own every f**king day and not coming home until three in the morning pretending I was working on an album, which I wasn’t really writing, I was making s**t music in the studio doing coke."
