Fans of Eurovision will already know that Olly Alexander is set to represent the United Kingdom at the 68th song contest in Malmö this month. Olly revealed the news during the Grand Final of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
And it's fair to say, the excitement has been building ever since. Olly's UK Eurovision song, Dizzy, is co-written with Danny L Harle, and has been described as 'a feel-good uplifting song' by a BBC Eurovision host.

Olly Alexander is the singer and actor preparing to fulfill one of his biggest life ambitions - to represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest. Born on July 15, 1990, in Harrogate, the now 33-year-old rose to prominence as the lead singer of the pop band Years & Years.
He initially dropped out of college at the age of 16 to pursue acting, making his film debut in 2008's Summerhill. Following that he turned up in Skins, and rose to critical acclaim for his Bafta-nominated performance in the Channel 4 drama series It's a Sin.
His Eurovision competing entry, Dizzy, was released on March 1, and marked his first release under his own name. Olly will perform his song in full for the first time on the Eurovision stage during the first Semi-Final on Tuesday, May 7.
