‘Whisky’ Helmer Pablo Stoll Rolls on Zombie Pic ‘Summer Hit’ (EXCLUSIVE)

If you venture into the recesses of The Playlist’s early years, you will find mentions of a “Halo” adaptation dating back as far as 2009. At the time, the thought was Steven Spielberg would produce a “Halo” film, based on the massive video game franchise.

With “Spencer” arriving this week and receiving a ton of awards buzz already, you would think that filmmaker Pablo Larrain might want to keep making these female-led biopics for the rest of his career. His previous film, “Jackie,” went on to earn multiple Oscar nominations several years ago.

Neon presents Spencer on just under 1,000 screens, Pablo Larraín’s well reviewed psychological drama about the weekend Princess Diana rewrote the future of the British monarchy. The film is said to be looking at a $2-$2.5 million opening with an 84% Certified Fresh critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes but a 50% audience score (albeit from fewer than 50 ratings).
