Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Canal+, France’s leading pay TV group, has signed distribution deals with Universal and Sony to ramp up its programming of U.S. movies. Under the pact, Canal+ now has access to the studios’ new films six months after their releases. Sony’s “Spiderman : No Way Home” is currently being broadcast on Canal+’s linear pay TV channels, along with its transactional VOD platform, My Canal. Al, speaking with a fervor bigger than mere desire — he’s talking about nothing less than a dream — replies, with stoic conviction, “Make up the words to a song that already exists.” Moments later, the Knack’s “My Sharona” is blasting away on the radio, and just after he’s taken a package of bologna out of the fridge, he has his a-ha moment. The lyrics come to him in a flash: “Oo my little hungry one! Hungry one! Open up a package of MY bologna…” An irresistible parasitical fake star is born.

On Monday, the trailer for the upcoming Roku original Story dropped and gave the world a closer look at the man who changed music for the weird. The trailer begins as Al literally kicks in the door and tosses a tape to a record executive (played by the actual «Weird Al» Yankovic) and says, “Put in it.”  “I’m tired of people thinking I'm some kind of joke,” Radcliffe’s Al says as a clip of him as a young boy being shamed by his parents plays.“My whole life, all I wanted is to make up new words to a song that already exists,” he says amid a scene of the police bringing him home from a polka party to his disappointed parents.  After Al gets the approval from his friends, and future bandmates, the almost 3-minute trailer cuts into his life as a musician best known for making parodies of songs that topped the charts.
