The Royal Variety Performance returns to ITV tonight (Sunday December 17) with a spectacular line-up of stars. Hosted by The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh, the gala showcases the best talent from Britain and beyond across music, theatre and comedy.
It is watched by 152 million TV viewers worldwide, making it the most successful and longest running entertainment show in the world, organisers say. The event is staged in aid of the Royal Variety Charity, with money raised from the show helping people from the world of entertainment in need of care and assistance.
It is always filmed in the presence of members of the Royal Family - this year the Prince and Princess of Wales and The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel of Sweden. The show has been running for 111 years, with the first show staged in 1912 for His Majesty King George V and Her Majesty Queen Mary.

The show will be on ITV1 on Sunday, December 17 from 8pm until 10.40pm. It will also be available to catch up with on ITVX.
The show will feature performances by Cher, Zara Larsson, McFly, Paloma Faith, Rick Astley and Hannah Waddingham and the ENO Chorus. There is a musical medley to celebrate Disney's 100th anniversary with cast members from Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Hercules and The Lion King.
