Focusing on events taking place some 200 years before Game of Thrones, a whole new generation of characters will be introduced and inducted into GoT legend. At the time of the series’ commencement, the Targaryen dynasty is at its peak, with King Viserys (Paddy Considine) in the Iron Throne.
Subsequent episodes will then explore the family’s civil war, with fierce rivalries and inner turmoil prevalent, basing much of its story on Martin’s Fire and Blood novel. The opening episode, titled The Heirs of the Dragon, broadcasts for the first time tonight, in the early hours of the morning.
