Ronni's family life and early career Ronni was born Veronica Jane Acona on 4 July 1966 in Louth, Lincolnshire, but moved to Troon, South Ayrshire in Scotland when she was just a few days old. She is the youngest of three children and has two older brothers.
Ronni obtained a degree in theatre and TV design at Saint Martin's School of Art. She made her first TV appearance on Blue Peter when she was 19 as they covered a play she designed and performed in. Relationships Ronni had been working on radio and doing stand-up when she met Alistair McGowan in 1992.
They enjoyed a seven-year relationship but split up just before working together on The Big Impression.
