We’re Here is getting a revamp. HBO announced today it has renewed the reality series for a fourth season with new hosts Drag Race Season 9 winner Sasha Velour, Canada’s Drag Race Season 1 winner Priyanka and Drag Race Season 12 champ Jaida Essence Hall. They will replace Bob the Drag Queen, D.J. “Shangela” Pierce and Eureka O’Hara, who starred in the first three seasons. Production is slated to begin on Season 4 later this month.
Created and executive produced by Stephen Warren and Johnnie Ingram, Season 4 will follow Velour, Priyanka and Hall, as they continue the goal of the series to spread love and connection through the art of drag across small-town America.
This season will focus on two U.S. towns over the course of six episodes, taking an in-depth and more immersive look at the local political systems and participants, anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and opposition, and their effect on the LGBTQ+ community.
“With the ongoing aggression towards the LGBTQ+ community, and the increased hostility directed at drag performers, it’s more important than ever for another season of We’re Here,” said Nina Rosenstein, EVP, Late Night & Specials Programming. “Time and time again, the series has shown that love is stronger than hate, and we want to continue to uplift the community by showcasing these rich and important stories. Final Cut in Venice, which runs Sept. 3-5, provides support for the completion of films from Africa and five Middle Eastern countries: Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria. It is one of the programs run by the festival’s industry section, Venice Production Bridge. Over three days, the working copies of the selected films will be presented to producers, buyers, distributors, post-production companies and film festival programmers. The first two days are devoted to screenings, and then one-to-one meetings between the producers of the projects and the professionals attending the Venice Production Bridge will take place on the third day. The program will conclude with the awarding of prizes in kind or in cash, the purpose of which is to provide support for the films’ post-production.

McKinley Franklin editor Rob Young, the Oscar-nominated sound mixer of “Unforgiven,” died June 11 in Albi, France from complications of a fall he sustained during a trip to Morocco. He was 76. Young was a sound mixer in the feature film industry for nearly 40 years, earning an Oscar nomination in the category of Best Sound for Clint Eastwood’s 1992 Western “Unforgiven.” He mixed sound for other popular projects including “William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet” and “Jumanji” in the mid-1990s. Among his other notable credits were “Catwoman,” “She’s the Man,” “Final Destination 3” “Night at the Museum,” “Jennifer’s Body” and “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.”
