The cost of living crisis continues to affect us all. We’re all looking for ways to save money as fuel prices, heating bills and shopping costs keep going up.
E.ON chief executive Michael Lewis recently warned that up to 40 per cent of households could be in fuel poverty by the end of the year due to rising energy bill costs. With prices causing great strain, many people are turning to other ways to try and save money - from supermarket hacks to clever kitchen tricks.
In a bid to help shoppers, a number of supermarkets have already announced price drops. For example, Asda has reduced the price of more than 100 products and has locked the cuts in place until the end of the year. Similarly, Morrisons recently announced cuts on more than 500 products.

But many of us still feel like the best deals are to be had at the budget supermarket chains. With Aldi remaining a popular spot for many households, sister site Lancs Live decided to set themselves the task of finding just what food could be bought to feed two people for a week for under £15.
In total, reporter Susan Newton spent just £12.95 on a variety of foods that also included staples that could be used in a variety of different meals.
