“Star Trek” may be a franchise that is based in space and, well, the stars, but it’s never shied away from some tried-and-true sci-fi tropes. And in the new trailer for “Star Trek: Picard” Season 2, we see how the folks behind the series are dabbling in a bit of time travel and fractured timelines for its new batch of episodes.

Star Trek Day on Wednesday. Developed by Kevin and Dan Hageman, is the first  series aimed at younger audiences. It will follow a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search of a better future.

Paramount+ will be live-streaming the official celebration for free on its platform today, beginning at 5:30 p.m. PT/8:30 p.m.
