Police have issued another warning about young children being sold illegal vapes laced with 'unknown substances' in Greater Manchester.
Parents have been warned about a number of reports of children being sold the illicit e-cigarettes in shops and being offered them from cars. Greater Manchester Police said the vapes can be 'easily mistaken' for other items, such as highlighter pens.
The fresh warning comes after a Manchester Evening News investigation revealed the sale of illegal vapes triggered safety concerns, with shops across Manchester; particularly in the city centre, selling the counterfeit goods openly.

Existing laws set strict limits on how much nicotine and liquid a disposable vape can contain, yet vapes purporting to have much higher levels of liquid are available from busy newsagents and corner shops.
The government has announced that it is planning to introduce a ban on the sale of disposable vapes in England, Scotland and Wales. The measure, which is expected to come into force at the end of 2024 or the start of 2025, is designed to tackle the rise in young people vaping.
