Another product has been added to a list of recalled cheeses over E.coli fears, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned.
The FSA issued a notice on Christmas Eve, December 24, for Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese, warning that four different products may contain the dangerous bacteria. On Wednesday, December 27, the FSA updated its warning adding Waitrose's Farmhouse Kirkham’s Lancashire cheese to the list.
The cheeses may have been included in Christmas hampers or been given as gifts, the FSA warned. Smoked Lancashire, Mature Lancashire, Tasty Lancashire, and Mild and Creamy Lancashire are among the affected cheeses made by the company, based in Mill Lane, Preston.

The FSA said the products might be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli. Anyone who has bought the cheese should ensure they do not eat it and keep it away from other foods. Products can be taken back to the retailer for a full refund, the FSA said.
Eating food contaminated with E.coli may cause severe diarrhoea and abdominal pain. It can also cause haemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a serious condition that can lead to kidney failure and can be fatal.
The FSA said: "Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese Ltd has taken the precautionary step of recalling various Lancashire Cheese products because the products might contain E. Coli.
"The cheeses are sometimes sold as a full block or served as individual portions, it may have been provided as part of a hamper you've purchased or been gifted. In some cases it’s been sold as part of a charcutier grazing platter.
