feature adaptation of “Avengelyne” from Olivia Wilde, Margot Robbie and “X-Men” producer Simon Kinberg is being set up at Warner Bros. The studio is close to finalizing a seven-figure film rights deal. Robbie is eyeing the role of the titular angel who fights the forces of evil and often finds herself face-to-face with demons and monsters.
“Deadpool” co-creator Rob Liefeld first brought the comic book character to life in 1995. “Poor Things” scribe Tony McNamara will pen the screenplay. “This incredibly humbling journey to bring Avengelyne to life onscreen started through my relationship with super-producer Simon Kinberg who told me he had a perfect fit for the material and asked me to trust him,” Liefeld told Variety in an exclusive statement.
“Next thing I’m meeting with Margot Robbie and Olivia Wilde and the connection was electric! They told me that they wanted Tony McNamara to write it, and after a pair of meetings Tony is onboard and things could not be more exciting. It’s all a result of Margot, Olivia and Simon working their magic to assemble this incredible team of creatives, all intent on creating a cinematic experience like no other!” Wilde, who previously helmed “Booksmart” and “Don’t Worry Darling,” is attached to direct. Robbie’s company LuckyChap and her partners Tom Ackerley and Josie McNamara are producing.
Kinberg will also produce the film. It’s not exactly a surprise that the project would land at Warner Bros., since LuckyChap struck a first-look pact with the studio earlier this year, following the massive success of “Barbie.” LuckyChap is next set to adapt two popular games for the big screen. Up first is “The Sims” with Vertigo Entertainment, based on the wildly popular sandbox video game series.

But Elliot soon finds himself out of his depth as Erika takes him on a journey more profound than he ever could have imagined, into a world of sex, obsession, power, betrayal and murder.
Kristen Stewart opened up about so many topics in a new interview.
Zack Sharf Digital News Director Kristen Stewart recently graced the cover of Porter magazine and called out “phony” Hollywood for how it often self-congratulates itself for doing away with the patriarchy when in reality, Hollywood has just prioritized a select group of women to operate in the studio world. While progress is being made, Stewart rang the alarm by saying changes for women in Hollywood are not as broad as Hollywood might like to make it out to be. “[There’s a] thinking that we can check these little boxes, and then do away with the patriarchy, and how we’re all made of it,” Stewart said.
