SEOUL, South Korea -- K-pop superstar group BTS has canceled a series of planned concerts in Seoul in April due to concerns about a soaring viral outbreak in South Korea, its management agency announced Friday.

SEOUL — South Korean boy band BTS canceled its scheduled April concert in Seoul, amid growing concerns of the new coronavirus outbreak, its music label, Big Hit Entertainment, said on Friday.

BTS’ took the internet by storm after they released their new music album Map of the Soul: 7 on February 21, 2020, and ARMY has been flipping out ever since. While their fans can’t stop gushing about their latest tracks, the K-pop band has been tirelessly working on promoting their album by doing interviews and appearing on various television shows, not just in South Korea, but also in the US.

BTS is on course for its fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as industry forecasters expect the pop group’s latest release, Map of the Soul: 7, to enter atop next week’s tally. The set, which was released Feb. 21 via Big Hit Entertainment, could earn 300,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Feb. 27, with most of that sum driven by album sales.
