Joe Otterson TV ReporterVictoria Pedretti has signed on for a lead role in the upcoming Hulu drama series “Saint X,” Variety has learned.The series is based on the Alexis Schaitkin novel of the same name. It is described as a psychological drama, which is told via multiple timelines and perspectives.
It’s a show about how a young woman’s mysterious death during an idyllic Caribbean vacation creates a traumatic ripple effect that eventually pulls her surviving sister into a dangerous pursuit of the truth.Pedretti will star as Emily, a sharp and ambitious woman whose carefully constructed, seemingly perfect life begins to crumble.This marks the latest major streaming TV role for Pedretti. She most recently appeared as Love Quinn across multiple seasons of the hit Netflix series “You,” including the third season that dropped back in October.
She is perhaps best known for starring in the Netflix series “The Haunting of Hill House” as well as the followup series “The Haunting of Bly Manor.” She is also known for appearing in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood.” She is repped by Gersh, Management 360, Rogers & Cowan PMK, and Sloane Offer.“Saint X” has received an eight-episode order at Hulu. Leila Gerstein will write and executive produce the adapatation.
Gerstein previously worked on the Hulu shows “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Looking for Alaska.” Dee Rees is attached to direct and executive produce. Schaitkin, Stephen Williams, David Levine and Zack Hayden of Anonymous Content, Adel “Future” Nur, and Jason Shrier of Dreamcrew Entertainment, and Steve Pearlman will also executive produce.

The Irish romantic psychological drama “Normal People” from BBC Three, Hulu, author Sally Rooney, and Academy Award-nominated director Lenny Abrahamson (“Frank,” “Room“) was a huge hit in the spring of 2020, distracting many through the pandemic and creating a word of mouth buzz that continued all summer long. The series also made big, breakout stars out of its leads Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal, who have gone on to become very in-demand actors.
Glamorous, starring Fuller House’s Miss Benny, was previously in the works as a pilot for The CW. It has now been handed a series order at Netflix.

It is inspired by the true life account of Henry Worsley (Hiddleston), a devoted husband and father, a former soldier, a man of deep honor and sacrifice, but also a man deeply obsessed with adventure, manifesting in an epic journey crossing Antarctica on foot.Soo Hugh, who most recently created and showran the Apple series “Pachinko,” will serve as writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner on “The White Darkness.” Mark Heyman will executive produce and co-showrun. “Pachinko” executive producer Theresa Kang-Lowe and Caroline Garity of Blue Marble Pictures will also executive produce.

Apple TV+ has given a formal green light to Constellation, a conspiracy-based psychological thriller drama series starring Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul). The project was created and written by Peter Harness (The War of the Worlds), with Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad) set to direct the series from Turbine Studios and Haut et Court TV.

Apple has given the show an eight-episode order.Momoa will write alongside Thomas Pa’a Sibbett. Both also serve as executive producers, as will Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Erik Holmberg, and Doug Jung.

It follows lawyer and recovering alcoholic Abigail Bianchi (Staite) struggling to put her career and family back together after hitting rock bottom.
