ViacomCBS Plans New Streaming Service

FandangoNow, the on-demand transactional movie and TV service from NBCUniversal-owned Fandango, is now available on Amazon Fire TV devices and Fire TV Edition Smart TVs.

Pusha-T and Jadakiss‘ new song, “Huntin Season,” finally surfaced on streaming today, only to be removed just a few hours later. On the track, Push seems to reference his 2018 beef with Drake, marking the latest lyrical nod to their well-publicized issues, but it seems that some of these same lyrics ended up being the reason for its removal.

You already watch a lot of stuff on your phone. There's no shortage of options, between big platforms like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and Twitch, or the social media streams of TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. But what if some of those programming options — particularly the ones on Netflix and Hulu — are just too long?

NEW YORK -- ViacomCBS is planning a new streaming service that will combine the existing CBS All Access service with Paramount movies and shows from Viacom channels such as MTV and BET.

If you still haven't watched The Farewell, Lulu Wang's bittersweet film about a woman who returns to China after her grandmother has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, now is the perfect time to do so. The movie, which just took home the award for Best Feature at the Independent Spirit Awards, is streaming on Amazon Prime as of Feb. 12.

Tubi says it’s continuing to gain momentum, drawing more viewers to its free-streaming service — and driving up more overall viewing time.

Over the past year, 95 million people in the U.S. used a major streaming service, 68 million were self-paying, 25 million had access through a family plan, 13 million were on a free trial, and nearly 11 million were “mooching,” or sharing a log-in that was not from an authorized family plan.

Whether music or podcasts, on-demand listening is the greatest change to recorded music in the last decade. Yet satellite radio -- launched before iTunes revolutionized how music is purchased -- continues to thrive as streaming services flourish. SiriusXM's 2019 earnings report, which dropped Tuesday, shows that the satellite radio service added 1 million subscribers and grossed $7.8 billion of revenue over the year.

Pluto TV, the ViacomCBS-owned free streaming service, will be available on Hisense TV sets through a pact with Hisense’s Vidaa International subsidiary.

Pictures and HBO Max have formed a new film production label that will focus on releasing eight to 10 midbudget movies per year via the company's new streaming service, which is set to launch in May in the U.S.The creation of Warner Max is designed to encourage collaboration and the sharing of resources across two titan divisions, it was was announced Wednesday by Warner Bros.
