Unloved announce new album with Killing Eve-featured single

Editors have shared details of their new album ‘EBM’ and released new song ‘Karma Climb’ alongside news of a UK and European tour.‘EBM’ is released on 23 September via Play It Again Sam (pre-order here). The music video for ‘Karma Climb’, which follows last month’s single ‘Heart Attack‘, is out now.The band’s seventh album is being showcased along with classics at their newly announced UK and European tour, which kicks off in Spain this month and wraps in Bristol next February.Editors will take in dates at London’s iconic Troxy, with further dates in Nottingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin and beyond in Europe.

Hit musical The Lion King is to play for an extended run in Manchester - with bosses announcing a raft of NEW dates at the city's Palace Theatre. The show, based on the hit Disney movie, will run for an extra seven weeks to make it an epic run in Manchester from Thursday, 27 October right through to Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Zack Sharf Jeff Beck announced during his June 2 concert in the English city of Gateshead that he’ll be releasing a new album with Johnny Depp next month. The album will mark Depp’s first major project released since the end of his highly-publicized defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp bowed to the crowd during Beck’s announcement.“I’m gonna take this opportunity and tell you I met this guy five years ago, and we’ve never stopped laughing since,” Beck told the crowd about Depp (via Stereogum).

Rina Sawayama has discussed how she was inspired by the “fake stories” on Taylor Swift‘s ‘Folklore’ for her new album ‘Hold The Girl’.The singer’s follow-up to 2020 debut album ‘SAWAYAMA’ is due out on September 2, via Dirty Hit, and was previewed last month with the single ‘This Hell’.In a new interview with Rolling Stone UK about the album, Sawayama spoke of being struck by the way Swift told stories of other people on her 2020 lockdown album, moving away from the autobiographical work of her past.“I remember when Taylor Swift released Folklore, I was like, ‘This bitch is writing about fake stories and she just wrote a whole album. If she can do it, I need to do it,’” Sawayama said, revealing that it was too painful to write songs about her own experiences while going through therapy.Discussing how she wants to keep her personal issues out of her songs for the time being, the singer added: “For me, it’s important that the listener is able to listen to it as a pop record first without that background, [and] make their own feelings about it.

Beth Orton has announced that she will release her first album for six years, ‘Weather Alive’, later this year. Throwing us straight into it, she’s also released its seven minute title track.“Through the writing of these songs and the making of this music, I found my way back to the world around me – a way to reach nature and the people I love and care about”, she says.“This record is a sensory exploration that allowed for a connection to a consciousness that I was searching for.

Elvis Costello and Allan Mayes have reunited for their old musical project Rusty, and are releasing a new collection of music called ‘The Resurrection Of Rust.’Costello joined Mayes’ band Rusty on New Year’s Day in 1972 and while the band toured extensively for the next year, they didn’t make it into the recording studio.Now, Costello and Mayes have reunited and have made newly recorded renditions of six songs drawn from the band’s set lists from 1972.There are recordings of two Nick Lowe songs, ‘Surrender To The Rhythm’ and ‘Don’t Lose Your Grip On Love,’ as well as a version of Kentucky songwriter Jim Ford’s ‘I’m Ahead If I Can Quit While I’m Behind’.There are also two originals, ‘Warm House’  and ‘Maureen And Sam’ together with an arrangement incorporating the Neil Young songs ‘Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere’ and ‘Dance, Dance, Dance’, the latter of which sees Costello making his debut on the electric violin.‘The Resurrection Of Rust’ will be on sale on CD at Costello’s in-person events and concerts.

Girl In Red has announced a new one-off show in London next spring.The Norwegian singer-songwriter will bring her ‘Make It Go Quiet Tour’ to the capital’s O2 Brixton Academy on April 3, 2023. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (May 27) and can be purchased here.It comes after she recently postponed her European headline tour due to damage to her vocal cords.“After my US tour ended on the 25th of April, I went to a throat specialist in Norway who said I had nodular damage to my vocal cords,” Girl In Red explained in a statement.

James Bay has announced plans for a UK and Ireland tour and shared a video for his recent single ‘One Life’.The Hitchin singer-songwriter will hit the road in the autumn kicking off at Bournemouth O2 Academy on November 20.The jaunt will also call at Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester, Edinburgh, Dublin and Birmingham before wrapping up at London’s O2 Brixton Academy on December 2 and Bristol O2 Academy the following night (3).Pre-sale tickets will go on sale next Wednesday (May 25) from 9am until 8am on Friday (May 27). Now she’s announced that the album will be out on 2 Sep, sharing a 40 second trailer with some snippets of the new music.‘Hold The Girl’ follows her acclaimed 2020 debut album ‘Sawayama’, which sparked controversy around the eligibility rules for the Mercury Prize, after it was not – as had been widely expected – included in the shortlist for that year’s edition of the award.

P1Harmony and American singer-songwriter Pink Sweat$ are set to collaborate on the upcoming single, ‘Gotta Get Back’.Yesterday (May 16), the boyband announced the upcoming digital single on Twitter, and also released the song’s pastel-coloured cover art. According to Korea JoongAng Daily, Pink Sweat$ composed the forthcoming collaboration, while P1Harmony members Intak and Jongseob helped pen lyrics for the track.

Matt Helders has spoken about Arctic Monkeys’ upcoming new album, saying that musically it “picks up where ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ left off”.The Sheffield four-piece have yet to officially announce the follow-up to their May 2018 album, but new music from the band is expected to arrive this year given that the Monkeys are heading out on tour in August.AM drummer Helders has now given fans an indication about what to expect from their next record.
