Ukraine mum hopes to 'make dream come true' by settling in Edinburgh with daughter

A loving mum from Ukraine is hoping to find a suitable home in Edinburgh to make her daughter's 'dream come true'.
Nadia, 34, is originally from Kherson, a small village in Ukraine, which is currently under Russian occupation as the war tears through her home country. Now, she is hoping that she will be able to move to Edinburgh with her 16-year-old daughter Eve, who has always dreamt of living in the UK.
The mum and daughter are currently living in Zhytomyr, after they were able to leave Kherson and escape "constant explosions and the Russian military". Nadia explained that she was not unable to leave Ukraine completely due to her father who was suffering from an illness.
However, things took a turn in December, 2023, when she sadly lost her dad, which took a significant toll on her daughter. She has now made the decision to try and move to the Scottish capital for the benefit of her daughter, reports Edinburgh Live.
Nadia explained: "Eve had dreamed of living in Britain since early childhood and has been trying to learn trying to learn English for a long time, which is why moving to Edinburgh is very important to me as a mother. Eve has studied the culture and languages of the UK and she just loved the culture as a whole.
"No matter how much I love my country, I love my daughter even more. Over the past two years she has suffered great psychological trauma. She is still a teenager and I am very afraid that her anxiety and panic attacks will turn into something more serious.
"I want her to have the opportunity for a happy future, to study in peace and quiet."
