Some of Ayrshire’s top hospitality venues are in the mix to be crowned the best bars and pubs in Scotland. The finalists for the Scottish Bar and Pub awards, formerly the DRAM Awards, have been named.
Ayrshire Live previously told how Venue38 will go into battle with iconic Glasgow venues to be crowned Best Live Music bar.
Now, we can reveal that a host of Ayr’s most popular bars and restaurants will be joining them, after being named as finalists in the industry Oscars, set to be held at a glitzy awards bash in Glasgow later this month.
The Fox and Willow are in with a huge chance on the night. The stunning Carrick Road restaurant and bar in Ayr has been nominated in two categories; Best Outside Area and Best Drink Offering.
Night time favourite the T-Bar - adjoined to sister venue The Treehouse - is in the running for the Makers Mark Cocktail bar of the Year gong. Brandon Van Rensburg – owner of the hugely successful Tempura restaurants - has been named a finalist for Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year. Meanwhile, Carys McGhee of the Treehouse is nominated in the Manager of the Year category. Adam Norquoy from Dundonald Links, near Troon, could clinch the top Whisky Guru award.
In Maybole, The Greenside Restaurant make the top five in the Casual Dining category.
Ayrshire hospitality giant Buzzworks’ Holdings could also be celebrating on the night, nominated in multiple categories. As well as having Ayr venues the Treehouse and T-Bar nominated, the firm are up for Hospitality Employer of the Year, a Sustainability Award and company bar manager David Howie who is up for Mixologist of the Year. The Auchrannie Hotel on Arran has also been nominated for Hospitality Employer of the Year.
