A new study by Tripadvisor has revealed the top trending destinations across the UK, and two stunning Scottish locations appear on the list.
With August coming to an end and September just around the corner, people across the nation are looking to book a late-summer or autumn getaway.
While there are countless things to see and do across Scotland, the travel website Tripadvisor has put together the most popular spots for a holiday as part of its Summer Travel Index.
According to the Index, which reveals insight into travel demand across the globe, Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands and Brodick on the Isle of Arran are the two top trending destinations in the country.

Aviemore is the higher-placing of the two Scottish spots on the list, coming in at number five on the overall UK top 10. Situated in the Cairngorms National Park, the scenic town is known for its many beautiful walking trails and tranquil lochs nearby.
According to Tripadvisor, some of the top places to see near Aviemore include the Rothiemurchus estate, the freshwater Loch an Eilein, and the Landmark Forest Adventure Park. Meanwhile, the Ravenscraig Guest House is ranked as the top place to stay, while the Old Post Office Cafe Gallery is the best place to eat according to the travel site.
Brodick follows immediately behind at number six. The main village and primary tourist hub on Arran, it is the perfect jumping-off point for those looking to explore the island.
The Isle of Arran Heritage Museum, Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park, and the Auchrannie Leisure Centre are among the highlights of the village according to Tripadvisor. Elsewhere, the Auchrannie Resort and The Stags Pavilion
