Todd Field Departs Hulu’s ‘Devil In The White City’ Series Just Days After Keanu Reeves Leaves

Martin Scorsese is reportedly working on a new Gangs Of New York television series.According to Deadline, the director will serve as an executive producer for the latest adaptation of Herbert Asbury’s 1927 novel.Reports suggest that Scorsese will also direct the first two episodes of the Miramax  Television-developed series.Scorsese has previously directed a film of the book in 2002 starring Leonardo Di Caprio as Amsterdam Vallon and Daniel Day-Lewis as local villain Bill ‘The Butcher’ Cutting. It was nominated for ten Oscars.The script for the new series will be written by Brett Keonard (Shantaram) and is said to focus on a different story to that presented in Scorsese’s feature film.Talk of a different Gangs Of New York series first emerged in 2013, to which Scorsese was also attached. Scorsese said of that in a statement at the time: “This time and era of America’s history and heritage is rich with characters and stories that we could not fully explore in a two-hour film.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Peacock has shared a first look at Joe Pesci in Pete Davidson’s semi-autobiographical comedy series “Bupkis.” It was first reported that Pesci would be joining the series in August. He stars alongside Davidson as well as Edie Falco. The half-hour show is described as “a heightened, fictionalized version of Pete Davidson’s real life.” Pesci stars as Davidson’s grandfather, while Falco will play his mother. It was ordered to series at Peacock in April and is currently in production. “Bupkis” marks just the second regular television role of Pesci’s career. Prior to this, he starred in the short-lived NBC series “Half Nelson” in 1985. Pesci is best known for his film career, in particular his collaborations with Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro. The trio have worked together on seminal films like “Raging Bull,” “Goodfellas,” “Casino,” and “The Irishman.” Pesci won the Academy Award for best supporting actor for his work in “Goodfellas” and was nominated in the same category for both “Raging Bull” and “The Irishman.” Pesci is also known for his roles in films like “My Cousin Vinny,” the “Lethal Weapon” franchise, the first two “Home Alone” films and “JFK.”

Let There Be Drums!, a documentary set to premiere later this month.The film is directed by Justin Kreutzmann — the son of The Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann — and according to its synopsis, will focus on “the art of drumming [and] the musicians who’ve mastered it”. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, the search is now on for a new director. News of Field’s departure from the show comes just days after Variety also exclusively reported that series star Keanu Reeves had bowed out as well. Field most recently wrote and directed the Cate Blanchett-led drama feature “Tár,” which debuted at the 2022 Venice International Film Festival. DiCaprio now serves as an executive producer on the project alongside Scorsese, with the adaptation previously set up as a feature at Paramount.According to Variety, Reeves will now no longer participate in the series, and representatives for both the actor and Hulu declined to comment thus far.
