Leo Barraclough International Features Editor Documentary “Bobi Wine: Ghetto President,” which world premieres Out of Competition at the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 1, centers on a man’s pursuit of freedom and justice for his country, but at the film’s heart is a love story. Variety speaks to the filmmakers, and unveils the trailer, the first time any footage has been released. Offset reportedly suing Migos record label over ownership of solo recordings

Offset has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Quality Control – the record label of Migos – over ownership of his solo recordings.According to court documents obtained by Variety, Offset alleges that Quality Control is claiming ownership over his recent solo work despite his claim he bought back the rights to the music last year.In the complaint, the rapper claimed that the label’s alleged hold as “wrongful” and that it “knowingly violates Offset’s rights to his own music.”As reported in Pitchfork, Offset is reportedly seeking a judgment to ensure that Quality Control maintains no rights, title, or interest in his solo work.Offset is claiming that Quality Control violated their settlement by asserting ownership over his recent, Baby Keem-produced solo cut “5 4 3 2 1.”The rapper alleges that Quality Control demanded that Motown “publicly (though falsely) list Quality Control as holding an ownership interest in the recording of ‘5 4 3 2 1,'” according to reports.NME has reached out to representatives of Offset and Quality Control for comment.Meanwhile, rumours of Migos’ breakup have been reported for some time following the release of ‘Hotel Lobby’, when it was reported that Offset had unfollowed both of his bandmates on Instagram.Less than a month later, in June, Migos pulled out of their scheduled performance at the 2022 Governors Ball festival, with organisers for the event saying they would no longer appear “due to circumstances out of [their] control”.‘Us Vs. Them’ was Quavo and Takeoff’s second collaborative release earlier this year, following the May release of ‘Hotel Lobby’ (which they dropped under the moniker Unc And Phew).

Diddy hits out at Triller following Verzuz lawsuit

Diddy has offered his support for Verzuz co-founders Timbaland and Swizz Beatz in the wake of their lawsuit against social media app Triller.VERZUZ is the popular entertainment series that pits producers, songwriters and artists against each other in a rap battle style format. Last year, the rights for the series were sold to Triller, who livestream the events on their app.In a recent lawsuit seen by Billboard, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz claim that Triller owe them $28m (£23m) and that it has defaulted on previously agreed payments. The suit goes on to claim that while the pair received payments as planned in January and April 2021, a payment that was due in January of this year has still not arrived.A new payment plan was then reportedly agreed, but the money from that has still not come through, the pair allege.“Since we ain’t fuckin’ with [Triller] no more, since they’re fuckin’ around with our boys, we don’t need to be going against each other,” Diddy said to So So Def founder Jermaine Dupri (per Rolling Stone).

Migos’ Offset Sues Group’s Label Over Ownership of Solo Recordings

Ethan Shanfeld Amid longstanding rumors that Atlanta rap trio Migos is breaking up, the group’s Offset is suing its record label Quality Control, which he says continues to claim ownership of his recent solo releases despite the rapper buying back the rights in a 2021 deal, for which he “paid handsomely,” according to the complaint. Quality Control continues to hold interest in Migos as a group, but Offset alleges that the label’s ownership claim over his solo recording and songwriting is “wrongful and knowingly violates Offset’s rights to his own music.” The rift has apparently been present for some time, as the other two group members, Quavo and Takeoff, have been performing without Offset and are set to perform as Migos — but without him — on Saturday at NRG Stadium in Houston.

Timbaland and Swizz Beatz are suing Triller executives for allegedly failing to pay them $28 million (£23 million) after acquiring their music battle series Verzuz. hit streaming rap-battle show, which was created by the two hip-hop producers in 2020, pits music artists against each other in the form of freestyle rap.Swizz Beatz, whose real name is Kasseem Dean, and Timbaland, real name Timothy Mosley, agreed to sell the series’ rights to Triller, a TikTok competitor, in January 2021, TMZ first reported. But now, the pair allege the company, created in 2015 by financier Ryan Kavanaugh, defaulted on the deal after just two payments, according to documents obtained by the outlet. It’s reported that a new payment plan was later agreed upon, however, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz claim they haven’t seen the money hit their accounts yet after it was due in January. The pair are seeking compensatory damages of $28 million, as well as $95,000 as interest, as well as attorneys’ fees, and costs.“Defendants have failed and refused to respond to plaintiffs’ written notice and demand for payment,” Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s lawyers wrote in the complaint, according to Billboard. “To date, defendants have failed and refused to make any payment to Mosley and Dean of the past due sums due and owing, and defendants continue in default of their payment obligations.”Triller did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment — but Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s legal reps claim in the suit: “The aforesaid defaults constitute material breaches of the agreement by defendants.

Timbaland and Swizz Beats have sued video sharing platform Triller, which they say still owes them $28 million from a deal relating to the popular livestream DJ battle series Verzuz, which the two producers created in March 2020.Verzuz was launched at the start of the original COVID-19 lockdown and quickly gained a significant following as interest in livestreamed events started to surge. 50 Cent says Beyoncé ‘jumped’ him over Jay-Z feud: ‘She was ready to fight’

“Many Men” hitmaker said the rapper’s wife “jumped out” at him and “was ready to fight” after he stopped by to talk to her husband in Las Vegas many years ago.“She was on a window sill. We were in Vegas,” he recalled during Friday’s appearance on “The Breakfast Club.”The 47-year-old rapper said the “Break My Soul” singer “jumped out” and pulled a confrontational face at him.“And I’m like, ‘Wait, what is you doing? That’s me and Jay-Z’s stuff, this ain’t got nothing to do with you, girl,” 50 Cent told hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy.Though his clash with the “Big Pimpin'” hitmaker never escalated into a full-blown feud — unlike his ever-lasting beef with Ja Rule and Rick Ross — the two rappers didn’t quite see eye-to-eye in the early 2000s.The rapper admitted he was taken aback by Beyoncé’s reaction to their quarrel.“I was like, ‘Oh, s–t!’ I didn’t really know what to do,” he recalled.

Tiffany Haddish recalls turning down $10M endorsement offer because her 'soul is worth more'

Cosmopolitan, the "Night School" actress recalled being offered $10 million to endorse a product, but she rejected it because it made her "feel like s***.""I've turned down $10 million just to do a post because it didn't represent my brand," she  said. "I turned down $10 million because my soul is worth more than that to me. My spirit, my integrity, how I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror every day."Tiffany, who was once homeless and living in her car, didn't detail what she was asked to endorse, but said she'd "rather be flat broke" than take money for something she doesn't believe in.
