Thug held up Scots bank with 'gun' as eyewitness tells of terrifying robbery

A shocked eyewitness of a Glasgow bank robbery has claimed a man 'held it up at gunpoint' just yards from where he was standing being served.
Police have launched a probe after the Royal Bank of Scotland on Kilmarnock Road in Shawlands was targeted at around 4.05pm on Monday, February 28.
The man made off with a three figure sum following the terrifying incident.
Passerby Julianna Boles was walking to the bus stop across the road when she said a man came running across the road to say he had witnessed the incident.
The man was 'in shock' but told Julianna he had witnessed the robbery happen just yards away from him, claiming the man 'had a gun'.
Julianna, 44, told the Record: "I was standing at the bus stop on Kilmarnock Road when this older man came across the road to tell me that the Royal Bank of Scotland was robbed by someone with a gun.
"He witnessed this, he was in shock as he said he was actually standing at one of the other tellers near this guy.
"I managed to settle him as he obviously couldn't quite believe what he had witnessed in close proximity.
"He felt he had to tell someone, he felt he had to get it off his chest.
"He said he was standing in close proximity to this person and explained that the guy appeared to have a gun. It could have been a fake gun, it was impossible to tell - but he said he had a gun.
"He said he was that close to the person he could have reached out and hugged him."
The stunned eyewitness, who said he'd never experienced anything like it in his life, told Julianna the man 'sauntered into the bank' before demanding the cash.
Thankfully the witness was able to escape unharmed and with his own money.
