Craig Mallon murder detectives are hunting a mystery woman who called emergency crews hours after the Scot's death as she may hold vital information.
The 26-year-old, from Coatbridge was killed by a single blow outside a nightclub in Spain's party resort, Lloret de Mar in the early hours of May 19, 2012.
Craig was on his brother, Bryan's stag-do in the Costa Brava town when a group of young men, believed to be French, attacked him and his friends as they left Rockefellers Bar in the early hours.
Despite a number of eyewitness accounts and authorities discovering the group of key witnesses had left their hotel early, local officers were unable to solve the case.
Almost a decade on the team probing Craig's murder is appealing for a mystery female caller to come forward.
The woman who contacted emergency crews hours after his death claimed she saw a "distinctively tall man" and others in a fight.
A representative from the Craig Mallon Appeal released a statement on Thursday afternoon.
It read: "Mystery female caller may hold the key.
"An English speaking woman telephoned the Spanish emergency services at 6.26am on Sunday, May 19 2012.
"This woman spoke about a tall man and others involved in a fight.
"The description of the distinctively tall man features in other witness statements.
"This woman's information is vital."
It continued: "The woman saw fit to make the call to the emergency services to report the incident.
"Did she tell anyone else about what she saw or or that she made that phone call?
"Despite this being 10 years ago this woman will still recollect seeing such a violent incident but may not have realised the fatal consequences.
"Please contact us with any information you have.
