A violent robber launched a brutal attack on a 'vulnerable' 54-year-old man in his own home - leaving him with a snapped bone in his leg.
Robert McDonagh, 33, burst into the victim's home in Cheetham Hill at around 9am on April 21 last year. The victim was with a friend and his carer at the time, police said.
McDonagh, who was 'known to the victim', pushed through the door after knocking. The victim tried to run up the stairs away from him.

But he grabbed him with both hands and pulled him back down the stairs, police added. McDonagh pushed him to the floor before brutally stamping on him and kicking him.
He grabbed £100 out of his pockets before he and another male fled the scene. The victim's femur bone was left snapped in half after the horrific attack.
He needed surgery and had a 'lengthy hospital stay', police said. An investigation was launched by GMP's City of Manchester North Neighbourhood Crime Team.
McDonagh, of no fixed abode, was arrested before being charged on July 13. At Manchester Crown Court, he was jailed for 12 years for two robberies against the same victim, police said.
Detective Constable Nick Kershaw, of GMP’s City of Manchester North district, said: "This was a despicable crime against a vulnerable man who was attacked in his own home. The victim in this case gained serious injuries requiring surgery and a lengthy hospital stay.
"The victim has been incredibly brave in coming forward and supporting our officers towards a prosecution. We wish to assure the public that Greater Manchester Police take all reports of robbery and burglary very seriously.
