Three people hurt during 'disturbance' on a Salford estate

Three people were hurt - one of them seriously - during a 'disturbance' on an estate in Salford on Friday, the M.E.N. has learned.
Police and paramedics were scrambled to Velour Close in Salford on Friday afternoon, with the air ambulance also landing close to the scene. A cordon was later established.
One neighbour who lives very close to the scene said he was one of the first to call the police following reports of a 'multiple stabbing'. He said following the incident three people got into a white car and left the area.

Greater Manchester Police has so far only confirmed officers were called to reports of a disturbance. The force is expected to release more details in the next 24 hours.
However, the M.E.N. understands three people were taken to hospital, and that one of them suffered serious injuries. An intensive police investigation is continuing.
Residents spoke of a suspected stabbing, but no further details have been confirmed by GMP.
One witness said as many as six ambulances and 10 police vans and cars were at the scene. Velour Close is at the bottom of Blackfriars, near to the River Irwell.
In a statement on Friday, Greater Manchester Police said: "At approximately 2.30pm today, Friday 18 August 2023, police responded to calls of a disturbance on Velour Close in Salford.
"Colleagues from North West Ambulance Service attended and three people were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries.
"There is still a scene in place and investigations are ongoing. Anyone who may have information regarding the incident is asked to contact 101, quoting log number 001978-18082023."
