We caught up with This Morning's resident medical expert and new mum Dr Zoe Williams to celebrate Mother's Day. She joined co-star and fellow doctor, Sara Kayat, for the OK! exclusive where the pair spoke about their journey's into motherhood. Zoe was open and generous with her story.
She held nothing back and revealed that she had frozen her eggs before meeting her partner Stuart – with whom she shares 9 month old Lisbon. When we asked what becoming a mum had meant to her, Zoe said: "There's a big sense of relief. I was planning to go it alone before I met Stuart, as I’d wanted to be a mum for about a decade but I hadn’t met the right partner." She continued: "I was starting to feel fearful that I’d spend the rest of my life not being a mum, and I wasn’t sure how that would work, so I had my eggs frozen a few years ago. Of course there are other options like adoption that I definitely would have looked at." Zoe met her partner Stuart in 2019.The pair connected by chance at a bar in Lisbon, which subsequently became the inspiration behind their baby boy's name. Lisbon Lion Williams-McKay arrived on 31 May 2021 and was delivered by Stuart before the midwives could get to their home in South London.
