Craig Doyle, a regular face on This Morning, had fans rushing to offer their support after he disclosed some heartbreaking news on his Instagram.
The beloved Irish presenter has recently taken an extended break from his hosting duties on the popular ITV morning show. While viewers called to make him a permanent host on the ITV show, during this time off, he took to social media and shared a touching tribute marking five years since his father, Sean's passing after a long battle with dementia.
Before the global outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Craig, 53, would regularly visit his father in an Irish care home where he resided. Recently, he posted an old photo on his Instagram Stories showing them both happily enjoying a day out, with beaming smiles.
The poignant post was fittingly captioned: "Five years today. Just wanted to remind those who knew him of his wonderful kind face." In the accompanying picture, Craig's dad was seen happily grasping onto a beer bottle and sporting a broad sunhat as they relaxed together in the garden.
On previous editions of This Morning, which he regularly hosts with Josie Gibson, the star had shared intimate stories about his bond with his father during a segment focused on walking.
Though Craig resides in County Wicklow with wife Doon and four children, the presenter often enjoyed walks with his father going from Bray to Greystones and how it held a deep connection for him due to memories of his late father.
