Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were beyond excited to reveal This Morning's new 'family member' just a week after they told viewers who will be the new hosts of the show. The pair were back at the helm of the ITV daytime programme on Friday (February 23).
Last Friday (February 16), Alison, 49, and Dermot, 50, announced that Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley are This Morning's new hosting duo and that the pair will replace previous main hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby following their sudden exits within months of each other last year.
Ben and Cat will follow the same working pattern as the previous hosts, presenting the show from Monday to Thursday while Alison and Dermot will continue to present their usual Friday show and stand in during various breaks throughout the year alongside other members of the This Morning family.

But during the latest broadcast of This Morning, and the last of the week, on Friday (February 23), Alison and Dermot unveiled another new edition to the show's gang - but it wasn't quite as it seemed.
The duo revealed that the new member was not a person but in fact, an adorable eight-week-old puppy. The young dog, who was later named as Buddy after the show sought viewers' suggestions, has been brought in ahead of starting his training to assist people with autism.
Alison, Dermot and the sweet pup were joined by Jan Kiley, the COO of charity Dogs For Autism, who said that the dog will eventually help with "deep pressure therapy" as she explained that autistic people like heavy weights on them, for example heavy weighted blankets.
