This Morning's Craig Doyle and Rochelle Humes were emotional on Wednesday morning as they addressed Holly Willoughby's shock exit from the show after 14 years of hosting it. Rochelle sent their 'love, best wishes and respect' to 'our Holly', as she declared that Holly "will forever be one of us". She said: "Holly loves her job here and was looking forward to the future of the show," before she alluded to the recent events that saw a 36 year old man arrested and charged after police discovered an alleged plot to 'kidnap and murder' Holly.
Craig said: "Last night, Holly made what we know will have been a heartbreaking decision to leave This Morning after 14 years. Rochelle: "Holly loves her job here and was really looking forward to the future of the show but recent events, especially in the past week, have been hard to deal with, and she's quite rightly putting her family first. Craig: "On behalf of everyone here, in front of and behind the camera, we just loved working with Holly and she made coming to work so much fun.
"We're all really, really sad and we're all going to miss her. Rochelle: "Holly said she's incredibly proud of what she's achieved on this show and so are we. "She will forever be one of us." Vanessa Feltz praised Holly as 'golden-hearted, sweet funny, extremely bright, and a wonderful person' before she said that Holly had been "rocked to the core".
Holly made the announcement of her show departure via a statement on Instagram. In her statement, Holly said that it had been a 'difficult decision' to leave the show, but that she felt that she had to make it 'for me and my family'. Holly's statement, in full, read: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.
